What are modern, timeless colors?
You may think that narrowing your 2024 paint colors to a palette at the intersection of modernity and timelessness will be limiting, but we’re once again not-so-sorry to tell you that’s not true. Neutrals and earth tones like taupe, grays, and muted greens are all modern paint colors that are always on the table for timeless design, especially when it comes to cabinetry.

Another avenue to explore with your modern interior paint colors that never goes out of style are natural colors and textures. This can be anything from whitewashed oak to natural wood that can be used for your flooring, walls, and ceiling with the addition of paneling, just like we did in this Hyde Park Cincinnati kitchen.
How to incorporate pops of color
Just because we’re singing the praises of neutral palettes doesn’t mean we hate color. Not at all! We love color – we swear! You just have to use it in the right way. To create a modern timeless design, the pops of color should come from the contents of your space. We like to think of the walls as a canvas where the color and vibrancy come from the art and décor that makes your space truly yours.
Even something as simple as the bright green chairs at the center of this muted kitchen can bring energy and playfulness to a space without overwhelming it.
Another way to incorporate color is by pairing light walls with dark accents, like you see in this butler’s pantry. The contrast between the white, neutral walls and ceilings and the dark cabinetry gives this space a wow-factor while also keeping it – you guessed it! – both timeless and modern.
